What is TackleDrop?
TackleDrop is a private marketplace for independent handmade fishing lure makers and the anglers who appreciate custom tackle. Makers set up their own shop, build a private network of buyers, and release limited batches of handcrafted lures through a drop system. Buyers follow their favorite makers and get early access based on their tier. No mass-produced products. No algorithm. Just craft, community, and drop culture.
Our Story
Built by an Angler,
for Anglers.
TackleDrop exists because great craftsmanship deserves a great community.
Growing up in Northern California, I've been fishing for as long as I can remember. My dad introduced my brother and me to fishing at an early age, and some of my best memories are the countless mornings, evenings, and weekends we spent together on the water. From using a Zebco rod and reel with nightcrawlers to catch bass as a kid, to blowing every dollar of my allowance on the latest tackle, fishing has always been more than a hobby for me — it's been part of who I am.
Over the years, what I've come to enjoy most is the pursuit itself: figuring out pressured fish, experimenting with new techniques, and trying to create something unique that gives me an edge on the water. Like many anglers, I became fascinated with custom lure making and the creativity behind it. The problem is… I'm terrible at making my own lures.
What I do appreciate, though, are the incredibly talented craftsmen and craftswomen who pour their time, creativity, and passion into building world-class fishing lures and gear. The detail, experimentation, and artistry behind custom tackle deserves to be shared with a community that truly values it.
That's why I created TackleDrop.
TackleDrop is a place where independent lure makers and fishing enthusiasts can connect through a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and the pursuit of the next great catch. Makers can share their work privately with their own network of loyal buyers or introduce their products to a broader community of passionate anglers through the public marketplace. The choice is theirs.
More than anything, I hope TackleDrop becomes a community where anglers and makers can share ideas, stories, gear, techniques, and memories — and help keep the passion for fishing and craftsmanship alive for the next generation.
Thank you for being part of it and helping to improve the community.
